Nirupama Soundararajan - Senior Fellow

Nirupama Soundararajan currently works as Senior Fellow at Pahle India Foundation (PIF). She has set up the Financial Sector Research Unit at PIF. Prior to this she worked as Additional Director and Team Lead for the Financial Sector Division at the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) where she was the lead author on the landmark report on "Why India Needs a Gold Policy." She also worked as Assistant General Manager - Economist in the Department of Strategy and Economic Intelligence with Bank of India, Head Office, Mumbai. She started her research career with the Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations (ICRIER) where she co-authored the book titled 'Retail in India' (July 2009) published by Academic Foundation. She has worked extensively on the impact of organized retail on farmers. She obtained an MSc. in Financial Economics and is an MBA (Finance) from Cardiff University, UK. She is currently pursuing her Post Graduate Diploma in Finance and Financial Law from Centre for Financial and Management Studies (CeFiMS), University of London. Her broad areas of interest are related to macroeconomics, gold, finance and financial services, retail and e-commerce, commodities and education.

Saurabh Roy - Fellow

Saurabh Roy has over 6 years of experience in the financial markets having worked at Credit Suisse and Yes Bank. He was also a consultant to the Bihar State Power Holding Company, working on electricity distribution. His areas of interest are policy and inequality studies. He holds a MBA from ISB Hyderabad and a B.Tech from IIT Kharagpur.

Arindam Goswami - Associate Fellow

Arindam has over 6 years of work experience in policy research and banking. Prior to joining Pahle India Foundation, he had worked with Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), CIANS Analytics and HDFC Bank Ltd. During his time at FICCI, he was the co-author of the report on “Why India Needs a Gold Policy?” He holds a master degree in business economics from Guru Nanak Dev University (Amritsar) and is currently pursuing his post-graduation in finance and financial law from University of London through SOAS. His areas of interest are financial services, gold and microfinance.

Ramneet Goswami - Associate Fellow

Ramneet Goswami is currently working as Associate Fellow at Pahle India Foundation. She holds a master degree in Economics from CCS University (Uttar Pradesh). She has over 14 years of experience in policy research. Her research areas of interest include trade in services, multilateral and bilateral foreign trade agreement (FTAs), foreign direct investment (FDI), logistics, audio-visual, and telecommunications. Prior joining PIF, she was associated with Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations (ICRIER). In ICRIER, she worked on various projects sponsored by Indian Government and international bodies such as European Commission, Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS), Asian Development Bank (ADB), Italian Trade Commission, etc. She has also contributed on prospects of trade in services and negotiating strategies in bilateral trade agreements with different regions/countries such as the European Union, Thailand, Indonesia, Taiwan, etc., being negotiated by Indian government. She also worked in National Council of Applied Economic Research (NCAER) for around five years.
She co-authored a book titled ‘Facilitating Trade and Global Competitiveness: Express Delivery Services in India’ published by Oxford University Press in 2012.She has also published several articles in referred journals, book chapters, reports, working papers and media articles.

Gunja Kapoor - Associate Fellow

Gunja Kapoor has over 5 years of experience in financial research and analysis. Prior to joining Pahle India Foundation, she has worked with a real estate private equity fund and CRISIL Ratings. She is an MBA from XIM, Bhubaneswar and B.E from VTU, Karnataka.

Dnyanada Palkar - Senior Research Associate

Dnyanada Palkar did her B.A. in Political Science and Economics from Wilfrid Laurier University, Waterloo, Canada. She has three years of experience in research and policy analysis. Prior to joining Pahle India Foundation she has worked with the Institute of Defense Studies and Analyses (IDSA), the Delhi Policy Group and the Public Policy Research Centre (PPRC) in New Delhi.

Devyani Pande - Senior Research Associate

Devyani holds a Masters in Economics (with specialisation in World Economy) from Jawaharlal Nehru University and a Bachelors in Economics (Hons.) from Miranda House, Delhi University. She has worked with the Indian Council for Research in International Economic Relations (ICRIER) and the Asian Development Bank in New Delhi. She has worked extensively on India-Pakistan trade in pharmaceuticals and textiles and, trade and investment issues in South Asia. Her research interests lie at the intersection of International Trade and Development Economics.

Anupam Hazarika - Research Associate

Anupam Hazarika has done his Masters in Diplomacy, Law & Business from OP Jindal Global University and KU Leuven, Belgium. He finished his Bachelors in Sociology (Honors) from Hindu College, Delhi University. He has 2 years of valuable experience in the field of research and analysis in the developmental sector with specialization in environmental policy and research. Previously, he has worked as a Project Trainee in Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand for handling rehabilitation projects. He has also handled different projects of UNDP, and World Bank. His areas of interest are Sustainable development, Climate change, Renewable energy, Conservation, International politics.
