Prior to the 2014 general election, Dr. Rajiv Kumar, Dr. Ramgopal Agarwala and Mr. Rajesh Shah had come together to write a book with the objective of capturing public and expert opinion on the way forward for the development of India. The fundamental premise for writing ‘Resurgent India’ was to provide a long term strategic vision and comprehensive framework for short term, sector specific policies for India. The intent was to provide a guideline for making India one of the top ranking economies of the world by 2050, the centenary year of the Indian Republic. The book was well received by readers and in fact, there was a call for the book to be translated into Hindi in order to make the ideas and vision presented in it available to a wider readership. The book ‘Resurgent India’ has as a result been translated in Hindi as ‘Ubharta Bharat’.
‘Ubharta Bharat’ was released by the Hon’ble President of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Shri Amit Shah at the BJP Head Office on 8th March, 2016 in the presence of the co-authors of the book Dr. Rajiv Kumar, Dr. Ramgopal Agarwala and Mr. Rajesh Shah as well as the publisher, Director of the Academic Foundation, Mr. Sanu Kapila. Shri Amit Shah hailed the book as path breaking in its attempt to shift the focus to the individual citizen as the centre of economic activity. He noted that the NDA government had embodied through policies in the Union Budget 2016-17, this shift in focus of economic paradigms.
