Ankit Singh Kharwar is an economist and a PhD scholar in Development Studies at the Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research (IGIDR), Mumbai, where he has submitted his doctoral thesis. He holds an M.A. in Economics from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. As part of his doctoral research, he was a Visiting Scholar at the Energy Studies Institute, National University of Singapore, where he worked on dynamic computable general equilibrium modelling and the estimation of the Social Cost of Carbon for India. His research interests lie at the intersection of climate change, energy and environmental economics, climate finance, applied macroeconomics, and computable general equilibrium (CGE) modelling, with a particular focus on the economic impacts of climate change, energy transition, and sustainable development. He has experience in empirical research, data management, literature review, econometric analysis, and CGE modelling, with strong proficiency in Stata, GAMS, R, EViews, and LaTeX. His work has been published in the Journal of Quantitative Economics, and he has presented his research at leading international conferences, including those organised by the International Association for Energy Economics (IAEE) and the Integrated Assessment Modelling Consortium (IAMC).
