Kuntala Karkun is Additional Director, Economic Affairs & Research at FICCI, a leading industry body shaping India’s business and policy landscape. Her work sits at the intersection of industry and government, encompassing research, policy advocacy, and strategic initiatives shaping India’s economic growth, global trade, and industry competitiveness.
Kuntala continues to be associated with Pahle India Foundation as a Senior Visiting Fellow, contributing to our thought leadership on trade, technology, and the future of work. She brings over two decades of experience spanning strategy consulting, policy advocacy, macroeconomic research and analytics. She has worked across South Asia, ASEAN, the Middle East, and North America, where she has advised governments and businesses on the digital economy, artificial intelligence, employment, and inclusive growth.
Earlier in her career, she worked with NASSCOM, McKinsey & Company, and ICICI Bank. Kuntala holds a Master’s degree in Economics from the Delhi School of Economics, and a Bachelor’s (Honours) degree in Economics from Lady Shri Ram College. She has authored several op-eds, research reports, and policy publications.
