The second seminar of the NSE-PIF Financial Sector Policy Series was organised in New Delhi on 21st July 2022. The topic for this discussion was “Leveraging Green Bonds for a Net Zero Emission Economy”. The Introductory Remarks were made by Dr Tirthankar Patnaik, Chief Economist, National Stock Exchange of India Limited (NSE).
The session was chaired and moderated by Dr Rajiv Kumar, Founding Director and Chairman, Pahle India Foundation (PIF) and erstwhile Vice Chairman, NITI Aayog. The seminar discussants were Mr. Prashant Saran, Senior Consultant, Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co.; Dr Dominik Wallau, Counsellor – Financial Affairs, Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in New Delhi, and , Mr Devin Narang, Country Head-India, Sindicatum Renewable Energy Company.
Ms Nirupama Soundararajan, Chief Executive Officer, PIF made the concluding remarks and summarised the outcomes of the discussion. The discussion was attended by representatives from various embassies, lawyers, financial experts, stakeholders of clean energy sector, academia working in the area of green financing, and sustainable financing enthusiasts.
