At Pahlé India Foundation (PIF), we believe that India’s most consequential decisions will be made in the next decade. When our Chairperson Dr. Rajiv Kumar and Ishan Joshi co-authored Everything All At Once: India and the Six Simultaneous Global Transitions, we knew these ideas were too vital to remain between covers. They needed to be debated, challenged, and ultimately acted upon.
To catalyze this, we convened a special evening at the Bangalore International Centre (BIC). The goal was simple but ambitious: to subject the book’s thesis to the scrutiny of some of India’s sharpest minds.
The Panel
The evening featured unscripted and unrehearsed insights from a distinguished panel:
- Dr. Rajiv Kumar – Chairperson, Pahlé India Foundation; former Vice Chairman, NITI Aayog
- Mr. Kamal Bali – President & Managing Director, Volvo Group, India
- Mr. Manish Sabharwal – Vice Chairman, TeamLease Services
- Mr. Nitin Pai – Co-founder & Director, The Takshashila Institution
- Dr. T.V. Mohandas Pai – Chairman, Aarin Capital; Chairman, Manipal Global Education
Key Takeaways: Urgency Over Incrementalism
The conversation ranged across the future of Indian industry, the changing nature of employment, the disruptions of technology, and the shifts in global geostrategy. Despite the breadth of topics, one central thread emerged: India’s moment is real, but it will not wait.
The consensus was clear: achieving the vision of Viksit Bharat demands a sense of urgency and a departure from incrementalism. The “Six Simultaneous Transitions” described in the book ranging from the green energy shift to the digital revolution are happening now, and India’s response must be equally rapid and comprehensive.
Catalysing the Future
This event embodies why PIF exists to bridge the gap between rigorous research and the agency to shape the future. By bringing together those who think deeply about India’s trajectory with those who drive its economy and policy, we aim to turn intellectual frameworks into actionable strategies.
We extend our gratitude to everyone who joined us in Bengaluru. The dialogue started at BIC, but the questions raised and the work required continue.
