Pahle India Foundation(PIF) is delighted to share the Launch of the Report: The Research Impact of International Day of Yoga- A Scientometric Analysis of Yoga’s Global Influence during the week of International Yoga Day Celebration.
The report provides a scientometric analysis of the global research footprint of yoga since the launch of International Day of Yoga (IDY) in 2015. The initiative has successfully elevated yoga as a tool for public health promotion and diplomacy, while also establishing India as a global wellness leader/ambassador. There has been an increase in research studies, validating yoga’s role in managing chronic diseases, mental health, and preventive care. Despite this growth, challenges such as scientific rigour, institutional coordination, and global research collaborations remain. To address this, the report recommends strategic investments in longitudinal studies, interdisciplinary research, and digital innovation to position India as a global hub for evidence-based yoga research and practice.
Special thanks to the Ministry of Ayush for giving us the opportunity and to the Central Council For Research In Yoga And Naturopathy (CCRYN) for their constant support.
