The 7th seminar in the NSE-PIF Financial Sector Policy Series was held in New Delhi on Thursday, March 23, 2023 between 3 PM and 5 PM on the topic ‘Corporate Governance in Public Sector Undertakings’.
The session saw participation by over 30 individuals from various walks of life.
It was co-chaired by Dr. Rajiv Kumar, Chairman of Pahle India Foundation and Former Vice Chairman, NITI Aayog and Dr. Ajay Kumar, Former Defense Secretary, Government of India.
Panellists included Shri Gurdeep Singh, Chairman and Managing Director of NTPC Ltd., Ms. Vijaya Sampath, Advocate and Independent Director of many companies, and Shri Mukesh Bhutani, Founder and Managing Partner of BMR Legal.
The chairs and panellists shared their insights on the impact of governance on valuations, the issues faced in appointing independent directors to the board, exemptions granted to PSUs etc. followed by a Q&A session with the participants.
