The first seminar of the NSE-PIF Financial Sector Policy Series was organised in Mumbai on 28th June 2022. The topic for this discussion was Green Financing: ESG Ratings and Funds. The Introductory Remarks were made by Dr Tirthankar Patnaik, Chief Economist, National Stock Exchange of India Limited (NSE), while the Welcome Remarks were made by Mr Vikram Limaye, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, NSE.
The session was chaired and moderated by Dr Rajiv Kumar, Founding Director and Chairman, Pahle India Foundation (PIF) and erstwhile Vice Chairman, NITI Aayog. The seminar discussants were Mr. Sandeep Chandna, Chief Sustainability Officer, Tech Mahindra, Ms. Shruti Rajan, Partner, Trilegal, Mr. Royston Braganza, Chief Executive Officer, Grameen Capital India, and Ms. Rama Patel, Director, Centre of Excellence, CRISIL Ratings LTD.
Ms Nirupama Soundararajan, Chief Executive Officer, PIF made the concluding remarks and summarised the outcomes of the discussion. The discussion was attended by ESG experts from the corporate sector, lawyers and academia working in the area of green financing, participants from the financial sector, and sustainable financing enthusiasts.
